Lion's mane, also written lions mane and known botanically as Hericium erinaceus, is a solid white cushion-shaped fungus with fleshy spines one to four centimetres long. It grows on hardwood and is called Yamabushitake in Japan and Hou Tou Gu in China, where it has been eaten as a food for centuries.
Hericenones are the aromatic compound class identified in the fruiting body, alongside beta-D-glucans. Our lion's mane extract powder is dual-extracted from whole fruiting bodies in hot water and ethanol, never mycelium grown on grain. Beta-D-glucans ≥ 26.20 percent, disclosed per batch. Lab-tested in India per batch.
Sold as a concentrated extract powder and as the whole dried mushroom for cooking.
