Turkey tail mushroom, known botanically as Trametes versicolor and formerly as Coriolus versicolor, is a thin layered shelf fungus with concentric bands of brown, tan and white that resemble a fanned turkey tail. It grows on dead hardwood and is found on every continent except Antarctica. It is called Yun Zhi in China and Kawaratake in Japan.
PSK and PSP are polysaccharide compound classes characterised in Trametes versicolor fruiting body, alongside beta-glucans. Our turkey tail extract is a 12:1 hot-water extract from the whole fruiting body. Hot water is the correct method here, because the beta-glucans that define turkey tail are water-soluble.
Glucans ≥ 47.53 percent, polysaccharides ≥ 57.66 percent, disclosed per batch. Every batch is assayed and the figure is published. Lab-tested in India per batch.
